Thank you for visiting and welcome to Desert Morning Studios! I work in a variety of mediums with scratchboard being the primary medium for my current work. My focus is the natural world and much of my subject matter is inspired by the beautiful Arizona-Sonoran Desert where I live. I’m an active member of the Southern Arizona Arts Guild (SAAG), a Signature Member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists (ISSA), and an associate member of Women Artists of the West (WAOW). I am also a member of Friends of Western Art.
Originals and giclee prints are available on this site and commissions are welcome! 10% of my sales are donated to animal welfare organizations that I support – Best Friends Animal Society, Equine Voices, Morris Animal Foundation, Camp Cocker and HOPE Animal Rescue.
My two scratchboard works which were juried into this fall’s Mountain Oyster Club Art Show in Tucson, AZ were sold during opening weekend in November, I am happy to report. This was my first Mountain Oyster and I have to say it was incredibly well organized, and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting other artists, seeing a few friends/artists who were either showing art or just came to see the fabulous work. Thank you to the Mountain Oyster Staff for giving me the McCalla Award in honor of the woman who faithfully ran this art show for many years. I was touched, and especially so because the award was given to my barn kitty Love Me Forever? Thea which is the second in the Love Me Forever? series fundraiser for Best Friends Animal Society. Each animal in the series is a real rescued pet who has been taken in by Best Friends on their way to a forever home. The proceeds from this series goes to support their work.
Congratulations to all the artists who participated this year. There is still plenty of fantastic work available on Mountain Oyster’s website. Scoop it up!
